EAU CLAIRE — A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire senior recently was awarded the William N. Wasson Student Leadership & Academic Awards scholarship for his work with UW-Eau Claire's University Recreation & Sport Facilities department.

Justin Holman, Waupaca, is a student manager at Crest Fitness Center, where he has worked for four years. He also is a lifeguard at the McPhee pool and volunteers at the Environmental Adventure Center. The scholarship recognizes top undergraduate and graduate students who are participants of and/or employed by the recreational sports areas of their university.

Holman received the award at the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Exposition earlier this month in New Orleans, La.

NIRSA was founded by Dr. William N. Wasson in 1950. The award in his name gives the organization an opportunity to honor outstanding student leaders who are active participants, employees and/or volunteers at their institutions.
