Students to present research projects at UW System symposium April 29

RELEASED: April 27, 2011

EAU CLAIRE — Thirty-two students from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will travel to Kenosha April 29 to participate in the 11th Annual UW System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, to be held this year at UW-Parkside.

The event gives undergraduate students from all UW campuses the opportunity to present their scholarly work in all majors and programs of study. Students participate through poster displays, oral presentations, exhibits and performances that may include dance, poetry, music and theater.

Faculty mentors often attend the symposium with their students. Dr. Karen Havholm, assistant vice chancellor for research and director of the Center of Excellence for Faculty/Student Research Collaboration, and Dr. Shevaun Watson, assistant professor of English and director of composition at UW-Eau Claire, will accompany the following students:
