Name change announced for Activities and Programs office

RELEASED: April 27, 2011

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has announced that the name of the Activities and Programs office of the University Centers has changed to the Activities, Involvement and Leadership office. Taking effect immediately, the name change more accurately describes the office's responsibilities.

The Activities, Involvement and Leadership office administers the Artists Series, The Forum, the UW-Eau Claire International Film Society and Summer Events, all funded through student segregated fees allocated by the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. Staff advise Greek life and the University Activities Commission of the Student Senate; administer the programs and services of Higherground, a student-operated lounge and music club; provide artistic direction for the annual Viennese Ball; and administer the programs and services of the Student Organizations Complex. The staff coordinates student leadership initiatives and recognition programs, Commencement ceremonies and a variety of special events throughout the year.

The University Centers is a Student Affairs unit of UW-Eau Claire.
