Student artist wins first-place awards in regional graphics competition

EAU CLAIRE — A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student artist was recognized with two first-place awards in the 2011 graphics competition of the National Association for Campus Activities Northern Plains Regional Conference. Recognized for excellence in design, innovation and creativity, the winning entries were exhibited and the award presented at the NACA regional conference March 31-April 3 in St. Paul, Minn.

Pung Her, Lake Elmo, Minn., received the awards for T-shirts she designed for the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. Her "Chill Out" T-shirt design for 2011 Winter Carnival won first place in the one-color clothing item category, and her design for the 24-Day Video Project T-shirt took first place in the multicolor clothing category.

Her has been employed as a student graphic designer in the Activities and Programs office since spring 2010.

An office of the University Centers, Activities and Programs is a longtime member of the National Association of Campus Activities, the nation's largest collegiate organization for campus activities. Formed in 1960, NACA links the higher education and entertainment communities in a business and learning partnership.

NACA Northern Plains includes schools primarily from Montana, Wyoming, Wisconsin, the upper peninsula of Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and western Ontario.
