Supervisory management workshops to be offered

RELEASED: Sept. 28, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present several workshops from the Supervisory Management Certificate Program in October and November. Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, workshops may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements. All programs will meet from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. The workshops are:

  • Oct. 14 and 15, "Improving Team Communication." Learn critical influence and persuasion skills. Discover how to improve team problem solving and make a positive impact on team performance.
  • Oct. 28 and 29, "Supervisory Management 2." Topics include establishing orientation policies and procedures, understanding communication behaviors, time management, delegating and employee development.
  • Nov. 18 and 19, "Developing Change Resilience." Topics include six sequential stages of change that work in concert with how our brains process information when new situations are encountered. Gain perspective, discover practical tools, identify resources and create change cycle success strategies.

The individual course fee is $450 per person and includes lunch, materials and instruction. A discount of $50 per seminar will be given for three or more registrations. Registrations may be any combination of attendees or seminars and must be received at the same time.

The Supervisory Management Certificate Program is sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at UW-Eau Claire. The SBDC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Small Business Development Centers are members of the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network, a coalition of more than 100 partner organizations which provide access to services for small businesses throughout Wisconsin.
