Local businesses offer discounts to students with Blugold ID

RELEASED: Sept. 24, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The Student Senate at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has partnered with a popular student discount program to offer students online and in-store savings at local and national retailers, just by showing their Blugold ID.

The Student Savings Club and Edhance program is in effect now and will run for five years. A list of participating local and national retailers and their discounts can be found online by visiting the UW-Eau Claire page of the Student Savings Club website. All the local retailers require is a Blugold ID card for the discounts. Some retailers require a printed coupon as well, which can be found on the website.

Students may also register their credit/debit Blugold ID cards online to receive cash back at national retailers such as Apple, Macy's, Walgreens, Target and Walmart. It is completely free to students with the Student Savings Club program and each student can register up to five credit/debit cards.

The Student Savings Club is funded by student segregated fees and facilitated by the Student Services Commission of Student Senate.

Student Senate represents the students of UW-Eau Claire. One of the roles of Student Senate is to author and pass legislation to create and change policies that will improve student life and the overall quality of the university. Student Senate consults with the chancellor, faculty and staff, UW System administration, the Eau Claire City Council, as well as state and federal governments.
