Supervisory management workshops to be offered

RELEASED: Sept. 8, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present several workshops from the Supervisory Management Certificate Program in September and October. Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, workshops may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements. All programs will meet from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. The workshops are:

  • Sept. 30 and Oct. 1,"Supervisory Management 1." Topics include the supervisory aspect of management, understanding your leadership style, motivating employee performance and dealing with non-performance.
  • Oct. 28 and 29, "Supervisory Management 2." Topics include establishing orientation policies and procedures, understanding communication behaviors, time management, delegating and employee development.
  • Oct. 14 and 15, "Improving Team Communication." Learn critical influence and persuasion skills. Discover how to improve team problem solving and make a positive impact on team performance.

The individual course fee is $450 per person and includes lunch, materials and instruction. A discount of $50 per seminar will be offered for three or more registrations. Registrations may be any combination of attendees or seminars and must be received at the same time.

The Supervisory Management Certificate Program is sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at UW-Eau Claire. The SBDC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
