SUBJECT: Response to ACTA 'F' rating
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has recently become aware of reporting about an "F" grade assigned to the university by the non-profit organization American Council of Trustees and Alumni. The organization included UW-Eau Claire in its recent ratings of liberal arts colleges and universities based on whether the institutions require students to take courses in seven subject areas.
The information about UW-Eau Claire put out by the ACTA is highly inaccurate.
"Our liberal arts education is considered exemplary and is taught by regionally and nationally recognized faculty," said Dr. Patricia A. Kleine, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. "Furthermore, as is well known, UW-Eau Claire receives high marks in the most widely recognized and respected rankings, as well as from our peers and national accrediting agencies."
