City alerts students to important parking changes, fines during street cleanup

RELEASED: Oct. 27, 2010 no parking sign

EAU CLAIRE — The City of Eau Claire will sweep streets throughout the month of November in neighborhoods near the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Beginning Nov. 2, temporary parking restrictions will be enforced along affected routes.

Streets will have temporary no-parking signs placed on them 24 hours in advance of sweeping operations. Sweeping will occur between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Temporary no-parking signs will be removed once sweeping has been completed on a street.

Any vehicles parked in temporary no-parking areas will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense, according to an e-mail message to the university from Eau Claire street maintenance manager Mike Barnhardt.
