'Swap-O-Rama' clothing drive, swap set for Nov. 10

RELEASED: Oct. 26, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The Women's and Gender Equity Center will host "Swap-O-Rama," the popular twice-yearly clothing drive and swap at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The swap will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 10 in The Cabin of Davies Center.

Starting Nov. 1, items can be brought to the WAGE office located in Room 38 of Schofield Hall, or the lounge in Room 34. Items can also be brought the day of the swap.

Everyone is invited to participate, even if they are unable to donate. Leftover items will be donated to various local organizations based on need.

"Swap-O-Rama" provides students, faculty and staff with an alternative to consumerism by offering a place to give, take and trade clothing and other items, rather than purchasing them. Items may include clothing, accessories, shoes, books, DVDs and more.

"Swap-O-Rama" is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Abby Vercauteren, WAGE Center, at 715-836-2693 or vercaual@uwec.edu.
