Series encourages student involvement in social justice issues

RELEASED: Oct. 25, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The Ministry/Common Ground, a student organization at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, will host a series of presentations and discussions on "JONAH: Faith-Based Community Organizing" at 7 p.m. Oct. 25, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8.

The presentations, which are free and open to the public, will be held in the Potawatomi Room of Davies Center. Students and interested participants will hear about and then discuss how to effectively organize themselves to address social justice issues as a group in a meaningful and powerful way. This kind of coordination of students of like mind and principles is already being used to address one of Common Ground's social justice initiatives — helping victims of human trafficking.
