Women's Chorus to Perform Nov. 29

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus, under the direction of Richard Moses, associate lecturer of music, will perform its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The concert will begin with Francis Scott Key's "Star Spangled Banner." Next will be a set of German vocal selections, beginning with "O frondens virga" by Hildegard von Bingen, conducted by senior Danielle Lahr, Grafton, followed by Johannes Brahms' "Three Sacred Songs," Op. 37, and "An den Vetter" by Franz Joseph Haydn.

The second set will feature multicultural selections, beginning with "Adiemus" by Karl Jenkins and followed by Francisco Muro's "El Romanton" and "Mouth Music" by Dolores Keane and John Faulkner.

Next will be a performance by vocal group Girl's Night Out. The group will perform original arrangements of popular music. Selections will include "Who Knew?," "Somewhere Only We Know," "Hercules Medley" and "Alone."

The chorus's final set will feature songs by American composers, beginning with Randall Thompson's "Choose Something Like a Star" and "I Am His Child" by Moses Hogan. The chorus will conclude its performance with "Clap Yo' Hands" by George Gershwin.
