Student researchers to be featured in
Diversity Expo Dec. 9

RELEASED: Nov. 23, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will hold its bi-annual Diversity Expo from 4-5:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center. The exposition gives student researchers the opportunity to display research projects based on service-learning they conducted in COEHS courses.

COEHS students in "Social Foundations: Human Relations" and "Ethnic-Sensitive Social Work Practice" develop research projects around components of human diversity such as race, culture, gender, socioeconomic status, sexuality, language and special needs. These projects demonstrate the critical application of course diversity concepts and provide the UW-Eau Claire campus with an opportunity to engage in complex discussions of diversity in the context of service-learning.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by COEHS and the departments of education studies and social work.

For additional information, contact Dr. Christin DePouw, assistant professor of education studies, at 715-836-5587 or depouwca@uwec.edu.
