Musical events for the week of Nov. 21

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Sunday, Nov. 21. All events are free and open to the public.
Monday, Nov. 22:
- The Piano Studio of Dr. Nicholas Phillips, assistant professor of music, will perform at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Several music students will perform selections by Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin. The performance will be a celebration of the famous composers.
Tuesday, Nov. 23:
- The department of music and theatre arts will present a student string quartet recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The recital will include selections by Dmitri Shostakovich and Ludwig van Beethoven. Members of the string quartet are sophomore Charis Wong, Hong Kong, and senior Bethany Webster, Shawano, on violin, and juniors Ryan Jensen, Alexandria, Minn., on viola and Jory Tuftin, Brooklyn Park, Minn., on cello.
