Accomplished actor Patrick O'Brien returns home for one-man show

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire alumnus and accomplished character actor Patrick O'Brien will perform the one-man show titled "Underneath the Lintel" Nov. 19-21 at the Grand Little Theatre in Eau Claire.

The acclaimed comedy by Greg Berger is sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild, with performances at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20, and 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21.

O'Brien, a 1975 UW-Eau Claire theatre graduate, has appeared on television and in movies, including the opening scene of the Oscar-winning film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and guest-starring roles on series such as "Monk," "Home Improvement," " Night Court," "West Wing" and "ER." He is most well-known for his ongoing role as Mr. Dewey in the young-adult comedy series "Saved by the Bell."

The Eau Claire native will return Dec. 18 to receive UW-Eau Claire's highest alumni distinction, the Lifetime Excellence Award, given to alumni who have demonstrated longtime and successful commitment to their careers and communities. O'Brien will also deliver the winter commencement address.
