Three faculty fellowship deadlines fast approaching

EAU CLAIRE — Three University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire fellowships will be available soon for UW-Eau Claire faculty members.

Positions are being offered in Academic Affairs, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Application deadlines are fast approaching, so faculty members are urged to pursue openings as soon as possible.

"Being a CETL teaching fellow gave me an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across campus in ways otherwise not possible. The result has been that I've grown as a teacher and a researcher," said Jan Larson, associate professor of journalism, encouraging faculty to consider doing a fellowship. "I have an extended network of people who share my interests. We continue to support one another. I look back on my time as a fellow as incredibly rewarding and enriching."

The most recent fellowship opportunities are as follows:

  • Academic Affairs Faculty Research Fellow to Support Liberal Education Curriculum Reform. Research conducted in this position will help inform the university's decisions regarding implementation of integrated teaching/learning models for curricular reform. The length of service will be negotiable based on assignments possible through June 30, 2013. The application deadline is Nov. 8.
  • CETL Fellow. Educators in this position initiate and lead a group teaching/learning project aligned with CETL principles. Projects need to address significant educational issues to improve teaching and learning. The priority application deadline is Nov. 15.
  • ORSP Faculty Fellow. This fellowship provides opportunities to focus on research from a variety of perspectives, including involvement in university and systemwide initiatives. Faculty member will spend the equivalent of one day per week during the academic year working in ORSP. In addition, the fellow will collaborate with ORSP staff members to assist with existing programming and proposal review. The application deadline is Dec. 3.
