The Daredevil Christopher Wright to perform free concerts

RELEASED: Nov. 1, 2010

Daredevil Christopher Wright photoEAU CLAIRE — The Daredevil Christopher Wright will play three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Nov. 12-13. The on-the-rise indie-pop group will perform in The Cabin of Davies Center at 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 12, and at 8 p.m. Nov. 13.

The Daredevil Christopher Wright is composed of Jon and Jason Sunde, both UW-Eau Claire graduates, and Jesse Edgington.

In October the group returned from a six-week European tour that included a featured appearance at the End of the Road Festival in Dorset, England.

In its debut full-length release, "In Deference to a Broken Back" (2009), the group faces the weighty issues of cancer, death and loss with a realistic and offbeat tone. Mixed by fellow UW-Eau Claire graduate and friend Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), the album layers joyful music with the profundity of the small moments that flavor life.

Cabin shows are free and open to all ages. Soft drinks, domestic and imported beer, specialty coffee drinks and tea are sold at all evening programs. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

All performances are produced and managed completely by student members of The Cabin committee of the Student Senate's University Activities Commission. For a complete schedule, call the Activities and Programs office at 715-836-4833 or visit The Cabin website.
