Continuing Education to offer fall personal enrichment courses

EAU CLAIRE — Registration is now open for University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension non-credit personal enrichment courses. Designed for adults interested in learning a new skill, exploring a topic in depth or developing creative abilities, the programs are taught by UW-Eau Claire faculty and community experts who are committed to sharing their knowledge and expertise. The courses fill quickly, so early registration is recommended. All classes will be held on the UW-Eau Claire campus unless otherwise noted.

  • "Middle Eastern Culture and Cuisine," taught by Dr. Paul Kaldjian, UW-Eau Claire associate professor of geography, and Meg Nord, an accomplished cook with years of experience in preparing Middle Eastern recipes, will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 14, 21 and 28, and Oct. 5 and 12. There is an additional fee of $15 to cover the cost of food for this course.
  • "Writing the Memoir," taught by John Hildebrand, UW-Eau Claire professor emeritus of English, will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 21 and 28, and Oct. 5, 12 and 19.
  • "Scandal and American Politics," taught by Dr. Geoffrey Peterson, UW-Eau Claire associate professor of political science, will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 22 and 29, and Oct. 6, 13 and 20.
  • "Emancipating Eve: Judeo-Christian Women's History," taught by Dr. JoAnne Juett, UW-Eau Claire assistant professor of English, will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 23 and 30, and Oct. 7, 14 and 21.
  • "Archaeology in Wisconsin," taught by Dr. Bob Barth, UW-Eau Claire associate professor of anthropology, will be held from 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays, Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 and 9.
  • "Retirement Planning Today," taught by Ty Bernicke and Karlyn Etheridge of Bernicke & Associates in Eau Claire, will be held from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28. There is an additional program fee of $59 per registrant, which includes a 100-page seminar binder. A spouse or guest may attend at no extra charge.

The cost for each program is $95 per person, unless otherwise noted.
