Worksite Wellness graphicEAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present the 2010 Western Wisconsin Worksite Wellness Conference: Programming in Challenging Economic Times from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 8 at The Florian Gardens in Eau Claire. The event is co-hosted by Mayo Clinic Health Solutions.

Rising health care costs impact all of us — our businesses, industries, government agencies and families. Worksite wellness programs have been effective in helping contain health care costs and increase productivity by improving employees' health and overall well-being.

Designed for human resource managers, CEOs, benefits specialists, health care/wellness providers and practitioners, healthcare managers, educators, school administrators and others interested in worksite wellness, the conference will highlight corporate wellness programs' return on investment. Two nationally recognized experts, Dr. Dee Edington and Ralph Colao, will discuss program benefits, key components of successful programs and research-based best practices. A panel of professionals representing businesses in the region will showcase programs that have thrived despite the recent economic downturn. Interactive discussions will allow the audience an opportunity to ask for advice on issues specific to their own programs.

Conference sponsors are Benefit Plan Administrators, Group Health Cooperative of Eau Claire, Luther Midelfort Mayo Health System, Wellness Innovation and Nursing Services LLC and Franciscan Skemp Health Solutions.

The program fee is $109 per person through May 21 and $129 after May 21. The fee covers program materials, instruction, handouts and lunch. To register, obtain additional program information or request reasonable accommodations for disabilities, call UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education at 715-836-3636 or 866-893-2423, use the Wisconsin Relay System (711), send e-mail to ce@uwec.edu or visit the Continuing Education website.
