Students receive independent film awards

RELEASED: May 17, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — Four awards were presented to students at the 11th annual Student Independent Film Festival May 9 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. UW-Eau Claire students were invited to enter a film in competition for the STIFFE awards, which were presented in Davies Theatre.

  • "For Just a Little While," a film by seniors Ben Klema, Racine, and Matt Troge, Black Earth, was named Best Film. Klema also received the Best Story Award.
  • "Split," a film by freshman Tyler Tronson, St. Louis Park, Minn., and sophomore Dale Walker, Hortonville, received the award for Best Use of Visual Medium as well as the Audience Award.

The University Activities Commission of the Student Senate sponsors the STIFFE awards.
