Innocent Men and alumni to reunite for 25th anniversary concert

RELEASED: May 7, 2010

Innocent Men logoEAU CLAIRE — The Innocent Men, a University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire a cappella group, will mark its 25th anniversary with an alumni celebration performance at 7:30 p.m. May 15 at the State Theatre in downtown Eau Claire.

The seven-member student group is auditioned out of the UW-Eau Claire choral ensemble The Singing Statesmen. The performance will include UW-Eau Claire alumni members as well.

"We are expecting at least 50 Innocent Men alumni and their families to return for the concert," said senior Jake Truby, Appleton, a UW-Eau Claire choral assistant and Innocent Men member. "We have been in contact with most of them through e-mail over the last few months. It has been very exciting to read the e-mails and get to know former group members."

The anniversary performance will include selections by Queen, The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Neil Diamond, the Dave Matthews Band and others. Original members of the Innocent Men will perform Billy Joel's "For the Longest Time." The piece, presented at most Innocent Men concerts, was one of the first songs performed by founding members of the group.

Tickets, available at the State Theatre office or by calling 715-832-2787, are $10 for the general public and $5 for students with a university ID. Tickets also can be purchased online through the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center.
