forensics imageThe UW-Eau Claire forensics organization will host the 32nd annual American Forensic Association's National Individual Events Tournament April 1-4.

The tournament is expected to attract approximately 900 participants, judges and family members to the UW-Eau Claire campus.

All competitive events will be held in various buildings on the UW-Eau Claire campus, with the center of operations outside the Council Fire Room on the second floor of Davies Center.

The opening assembly is set for 8 a.m. Friday, April 2, and the tournament will culminate with an awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 4. Both events will take place in Zorn Arena.

Visit the UW-Eau Claire forensics Web site for the full schedule.

UW-Eau Claire forensics has a history of high-performance teams, including a consecutive 18-year first-place record at the annual state tournament. UW-Eau Claire is one of only six schools to be in attendance at every national AFA tournament since its inception.

"This is our way of giving back to the forensics community that has done so much for us," Karen Morris, forensics director and tournament coordinator, said of hosting this weekend's event. "We are excited about this event. It takes a lot of people, including alumni, to host an event of this size, and for that we are most appreciative."

For more information, contact Karen Morris at morriskr@uwec.edu, or ask for her at the tournament center of operations outside the Council Fire Room (where she expects to spend a majority of her time this weekend).
