Musical events
for the week of March 22

RELEASED: March 18, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning March 22. All events are free and open to the public.

Monday, March 22:

  • Senior Kyle Siegrist, Green Bay, will present a tenor and alto trombone recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Assisted on piano by Roger Bethard, Siegrist will perform selections by Paul Creston, Robert Schumann, Emmett Yoshioka, Jean Baptiste Loeillet and Daniel Schnyder.

Tuesday, March 23:

  • Junior Lexi Zunker, Conrath, will present a flute recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Assisted on piano by Penelope Cecchini, professor emerita of music, Zunker will present selections by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Darius Milhaud, Luciano Berio and Sergei Prokofiev.
  • The Phi Mu Alpha student organization will present "An American Music Recital" at 7:30 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The performance will include "The Star Spangled Banner" and selections by Vincent Persichetti, Charles Ives, Leroy Anderson, Chris Brubeck and others. The concert also will feature original pieces "408 East Main" by junior Greg Ellis, Waukesha, and "Counterpoint" by senior Carl Schroeder, Plymouth.

Wednesday, March 24:

  • Senior Chelsey Dahm, Middleton, will present a capstone dance recital highlighting her accomplishments in choreography and dance at 7:30 p.m. in Kjer Theatre. Assisted by fellow students, Dahm will perform to music by Marilyn Manson, Phillip Glass, Dun Tan, Ludwig van Beethoven and others. She will perform selections she presented at American College Dance Festival Association events, including "The Hunger," performed in Orono, Maine, in February 2009; and "Requiem," performed in Erie, Pa., in February 2010. Dahm received the Monticello Scholarship Award for her choreography of "The Hunger" in 2009.

Thursday, March 25:

  • Sophomore Megan Pattarozzi, Middleton, will present a clarinet recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
  • Guest artist Roger McVey will present a piano recital at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. McVey will present selections by Nikolai Kapustin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Alexander Scriabin, Mili Balakirev and Franz Schubert.
