Continuing Education to offer program for camp nurses

bugEAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education will offer a program in May for nurses planning to work at summer camps. "Camp Nursing 101" will run from 11:30 a.m. May 7 through 3 p.m. May 8 at the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt.

Designed for registered nurses and senior nursing students, the program offers information for a successful camp nursing experience. Topics include an introduction to camp as a community that values health, routine camp nursing tasks, clinical aspects of camp nursing and control of communicable diseases.

The fee for the program is $349 per person and includes overnight lodging at the camp the night of May 7, four meals, refreshments, instructional materials (including a copy of the book "The Basics of Camp Nursing" by Linda Ebner Erceg and Myra Pravda) and 12 nursing contact hours.
