Tickets for Minneapolis arts tour available through March 7

RELEASED: March 1, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The department of art & design at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host a one-day art tour to the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts, the Walker Museum and the University of Minnesota's Katherine Nash Gallery and open studios on March 12.

The art tour will offer UW-Eau Claire students, faculty, staff and community members exposure to museums and galleries in Minneapolis, Minn. Those who attend will have an opportunity to participate in open critiques with master of fine arts graduate students from the University of Minnesota.

The Katherine Nash Gallery currently is hosting the exhibition "Women and Water Rights through Art," juried by Lucy Lippard, an internationally known writer, activist and curator of contemporary art. The exhibition includes work by UW-Eau Claire's Sandra Starck, associate professor of printmaking.

Tickets are available for $20 at the Service Center in Davies Center until March 7. There are 40 available spots.
