EAU CLAIRE — UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will offer programs on Ethics and Boundaries for social workers, therapists, counselors and psychologists this fall and winter. The programs meet the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing requirements for continuing education in that topic area.
Two courses are offered as part of the Ethics and Boundaries program: "Spirituality & Religion" and "A Clinical Perspective." Dr. Nick Smiar, professor emeritus of social work at UW-Eau Claire, will lead the "Spirituality & Religion" programs. Dr. Gary Schoener, a clinical psychologist and director of consultation and training at the Walk-In Counseling Center in Minneapolis, Minn., will present the programs on "A Clinical Perspective."
Dates and locations for "Spirituality & Religion" are:
All "Spirituality & Religion" programs will run from 12:30-4:30 p.m. The cost is $89 per workshop, which includes handouts and instruction. Participants will earn four continuing education hours for the program.
Dates and locations for "A Clinical Perspective" are:
"A Clinical Perspective" will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $159 per workshop, which includes lunch, program handouts and instruction. Participants will earn six continuing education hours for the program.
