EAU CLAIRE — Blugold Dining at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire participated for the first time in Taste of Eau Claire, presented June 20 at Phoenix Park in downtown Eau Claire. One of 13 vendors featured at the event, Blugold Dining served nearly 1,000 people and contributed $709 to the United Way of Greater Eau Claire. Blugold Dining's crab and corn chowder received one of Taste of Eau Claire's three "Best of" awards.
Sodexo Operations LLC, has provided Blugold Dining service on the UW-Eau Claire campus since 2002. During the 2009-10 academic year — for the first time ever, and without a surge in overall student count — Blugold Dining exceeded the 1 million meal mark. The total number of meals served in The Terrace (Davies Center) and Riverview Cafe (Hilltop Center) during the academic year was 1.15 million meals. The popularity of the cafeterias is consistent with the meal plan's success in offering UW-Eau Claire students convenience and choice.
The Blugold Dining program is administered by the University Centers, a Student Affairs unit of UW-Eau Claire.
