Dennis Warner and the D's to perform for summer concert series

EAU CLAIRE — A free outdoor concert by Dennis Warner and the D's June 28 will highlight the third week of the Summer Events series at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The show will begin at 7 p.m. on the Central Campus Mall (rain site: The Cabin of Davies Center). Audience members are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic. Free popcorn will be available.
Dennis Warner is an Americana singer-songwriter known for his crafty wit, skillful musicianship and the special ability to captivate an audience. Accompanying his smooth vocals with his six- and twelve-string guitars, he has performed his family-oriented concerts throughout the country, drawing inspiration for songs that appeal to the universal aspects of our lives.
The Summer Events series also will present the following:

A performance by Dr. Tim Lane, UW-Eau Claire professor of music, on flute, will open the Summer Sounds series June 27 at 2 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The light classical series is presented in cooperation with the department of music and theatre arts.
Dr. Tim Lane - Jazz at Noon concerts every weekday will feature the David Power Group (June 28-30) and the Walk-Klenz Group (July 1-2). The UW-Eau Claire student and alumni musicians will perform music ranging from jazz standards to improvisation on the Central Campus Mall (rain site: The Terrace of Davies Center). A variety of grilled lunch items will be sold.
- A sample of area farmers market offerings will be brought to campus at the Fresh Start Farmers Mart from 8 a.m.-noon July 1 on the sidewalk north of Zorn Arena.
With the theme "Welcome to our Backyard," the Summer Events series continues through Aug. 5. A complete schedule is available online or at the Service Center, 715-836-3727. The eight-week series is funded by the students of UW-Eau Claire and coordinated by the University Centers.
