University Writing Center opens satellite locations, expands online help

RELEASED: Jan. 26, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The University Writing Center is making services more accessible by opening satellite centers throughout the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus. Beginning in February, walk-in appointments will be available to students at the following times and locations:

  • 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday, Human Sciences and Services, Room 180;
  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Nursing, Room 258;
  • 5-9 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, McIntyre Library, Room 1024;
  • 5-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Towers Hall first-floor lounge.

"The reason we are expanding services is to reach even more students and to serve them in locations that are convenient to their schedules," said Traci Thomas-Card, interim coordinator of the University Writing Center.

Online tutoring and live chat sessions also will be available. For more information, see their Web site. The University Writing Center is located in Old Library, Room 1142.
