Exhibit of finger rings to open in Foster Gallery

EAU CLAIRE — A new exhibit titled "True Individuality — Adornment for the Hand" will open Feb. 25 and run through March 17 in the Foster Gallery of the Haas Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

An opening reception will be held from 7:30-9 p.m. Feb. 25 in the gallery.

The exhibit will feature works by 23 prominent metal smiths displaying their artistic interpretations of the finger ring. Pieces are atypical in characteristic and are cast and fabricated in precious metals combined with a variety of other metals.

The exhibit is curated by Jolee Mickesh, a metals instructor in the department of art & design at UW-Eau Claire.

Foster Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays and 1-4:30 p.m. weekends.
