RELEASED: Feb. 9, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students enrolled in "Teaching Foreign Languages in Grades 1-9" will offer a series of exploratory foreign language classes for elementary school students in grades 1-5. Classes are beginning French, beginning German, beginning Spanish and continuing Spanish, and will help UW-Eau Claire education majors prepare to teach foreign languages at the elementary level.

Classes will meet from 4:10-4:50 p.m. Thursdays March 18-May 13 in Hibbard Hall, located at the corner of Park and Garfield avenues on UW-Eau Claire's lower campus. There is no fee, but parents are encouraged to contribute one after-school treat. Classes will not meet April 1.

Those interested should register online by Feb. 26. Enrollment is limited to twelve students per class. For more information, contact Dr. Anne Hlas, assistant professor of Spanish and foreign language education at 715-836-3528 or hlasac@uwec.edu.
