'The Essentials' business administration certificate courses to be offered

EAU CLAIRE — Courses for The Essentials certificate in business administration will be offered through University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education and the College of Business. The courses all are online and can be taken for academic credit, no credit or continuing education units. Participants may take one course or complete two required and five elective courses to earn an Essentials of Business Administration certificate. Registrations for the following courses will be accepted through March 8:

  • "Introduction to the World of Business," March 22-April 23. This course provides an overview of the business environment, including functional areas within business, and how they work together. The non-credit cost is $175 plus the cost of a textbook.
  • "Essentials of Marketing," March 22-May 14. This course covers basic marketing principles, including the marketing concept, marketing mix, customer segmentation and target marketing. The non-credit cost is $350 plus the cost of a textbook.
  • "Essentials of Business Communication," March 22-May 14. This course covers the mechanics and psychology of business communication, including audience analysis and effective ways to communicate, plan, revise and polish communication for business. The non-credit cost is $350 plus the cost of a textbook.
