Media Memo: Chancellor's message regarding
Hawaii Pacific University presidential search

TO: News Editors and Directors

FROM: Julie Poquette

DATE: Dec. 17, 2010

SUBJECT: Chancellor's message regarding Hawaii Pacific University presidential search

UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich sent the following e-mail message to university faculty and staff today:

I have recently had a rare opportunity to reflect, to compare and to prioritize for my family and myself. While this is exhilarating, it is also stressful for everyone. With the semester drawing to a close, it is important to bring this opportunity to consider a career move to a conclusion. I have today withdrawn from the presidential search at Hawaii Pacific University.

I look forward to staying here in Eau Claire and achieving my personal "next level" as we achieve our collective aspirations at UW-Eau Claire. I look forward to continuing to work with an extraordinary leadership team every day and to the creativity and innovation of scholars, professionals and all of us who support them throughout our university community. I look forward to new facilities and to partnerships that can help our university and our community and to expanding our national and worldwide reach. And I look forward to the continuing joy and pride we receive from our students and from seeing our faculty and staff develop our students' talents and prepare them for a challenging future.

Thank you for your forbearance and support. I wish everyone a happy holiday and a healthy new year.

Please contact Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich with any questions. He can be reached at 715-836-2327.
