Forum on history of natural food, health movements set for Dec. 9

RELEASED: Dec. 7, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire History Graduate Student Association will present a forum titled "How Health Nuts Became Tree Huggers: Popular Culture and Natural Food and Health Movements Since 1945" at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Hibbard Hall Penthouse.

During the forum, Andrew Case, an environmental historian and UW-Madison doctoral student, will explore the role of popular culture in shaping natural food and health movements. The forum is supported by the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate's new Environmental Endeavors Commission.

The forum, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the HGSA and Student Senate.
