EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire American Sign Language Student Organization will present "Black Sand," an ASL film, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 6 in Davies Theatre.
The 90-minute suspense thriller, set in Costa Rica, features deaf and hard of hearing actors, bringing awareness of deafness and ASL to the Eau Claire community. Net profits from ticket sales will benefit UW-Eau Claire ASLSO as well as Hands & Voices, a nationwide nonprofit organization that supports families and children who are deaf or hard of hearing and the professionals who serve them. The event is sponsored by ASLSO and ASL Films. ASL Films is an independent, deaf owned and operated production company.
