Phillips lot reconfigured for faculty, student parking during construction

RELEASED: Aug. 30, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — Parking in the Phillips lot at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has been reconfigured due to a change in the university student center construction timeline.

The Phillips lot will remain open during the fall semester. All of the parking spaces to the east of the drive next to Phillips Science Hall will now be designated "F" permit parking only. The remainder of the spaces west of the drive will be designated parking for commuter students with "S" permits. Signs in the lot will reflect these changes.

Until construction of the new university student center begins, all of the parking spaces for Phillips lot "GF" permit holders will be relocated to the west side of Phillips Hall in what were formerly metered spaces. Signs will be posted indicating spaces designated for Phillips lot "GF" permit holders.

As campus construction projects continue, every effort will be made to get information regarding parking changes to faculty, staff and students in advance, said Kimberly O'Kelly, UW-Eau Claire Parking and Transportation Services coordinator. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to consult the construction news section of the UW-Eau Claire website for announcements, but also to pay attention to posted signs in the event that changes occur on short notice.
