EAU CLAIRE — "Party House," a campuswide event designed to challenge first-year students' misperceptions about alcohol use, will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 2 in Davies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
This award-winning, interactive program highlights perceived use, abuse and potential consequences related to alcohol use. In addition, Mike Green, a nationally recognized leader in drug and alcohol awareness and education, will present the program "Four Stages of Drinking" at 6:30 and 8 p.m. in Schofield Auditorium.
For nearly two decades, Green has presented on more than 2,000 college campuses. He also has been a high school and college athlete and coach. His background as an athlete, coach and educator helps him connect with youth. His firsthand experiences as a recovering alcoholic also give him the credibility to honestly convey the dangers that drugs and alcohol pose for many students.
UW-Eau Claire sponsors of these events include the Center for Alcohol Studies and Education, the First-Year Experience program, Housing and Residence Life, New Student Orientation and University Centers.
