EAU CLAIRE — Dylan Karis, Deer Park, received the Dr. Ronald N. Satz Memorial Scholarship to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for the 2010-11 academic year.
Established in memory of Dr. Ronald Satz, provost and vice chancellor emeritus at UW-Eau Claire, who died in March 2006, the scholarship is awarded to a student in the upper 25 percent of his or her graduating class with a minimum composite ACT score of 25. Preference is given to a freshman who meets one or more of the following criteria: First-generation college student; immigrant to the United States or child of an immigrant; a minority or economically disadvantaged student; or a student who shows evidence of a strong commitment to social and economic justice and/or public service.
