EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will again partner with the Eau Claire Area School District for the annual Literacy Festival and Potluck. The event will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 4 in the Oak and Pine pavilions at Carson Park.
Last year more than 400 Eau Claire area elementary and preschool children and families, their university reading partners and Jumpstart volunteers gathered to celebrate the joy of reading quality literature. This year's event will begin with a potluck dinner and end with entertainment, games and storytelling. Books will be distributed to all children who attend.
The UW-Eau Claire organizations involved in the event are the Reading Partner Program, Literacy Leaders, Early Learning Initiatives, Jumpstart, Center for Service-Learning and First Book.
