Choral Union concert set for May 9

RELEASED: April 29, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire department of music and theatre arts will present a Choral Union concert at 6 p.m. May 9 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. This special performance marks the first Choral Union concert since May 2007.

The concert will showcase the UW-Eau Claire Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff, professor of music; Symphonic Choir, directed by Richard Moses, lecturer of music; and the University Symphony Orchestra, directed by Nobuyoshi Yasuda, associate professor of music. The concert will feature Maurice Duruflé's "Requiem, Opus 9" and Mack Wilberg's "Requiem," as well as vocal solos by Dr. Robert Knight, professor of music; and Dr. Jessica Riley, assistant professor of music.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $4 for those 62 and older, 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.50 for students with a university ID.
