EAU CLAIRE — A number of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students received awards and scholarships at the university's 36th annual Viennese Ball April 9 and 10.
Proceeds from the two-night event and donations to the Viennese Ball support awards and global study opportunities for UW-Eau Claire students. The awards recognize international studies, music service and academic excellence, and service to the ball through Davies University Center employment.

| Alexandra Esser |
Alexandra Esser, Waukesha, received the Heinz K. Seitinger Scholarship, given to a UW-Eau Claire student studying in Graz, Austria. This scholarship is named for former Austrian trade commissioner Heinz K. Seitinger in recognition of his contributions to UW-Eau Claire's international programs. Esser is pursuing a double major in music education (instrumental) and German education. She is the daughter of Tracy and Chuck Esser.

The following students received Viennese Ball Senior Music Awards, given for talent, academic achievement and contributions to the department of music and theatre arts.

| Nicole Hudachek |
Nicole Hudachek, Cornucopia, received the Ada Bors Music Service Award, which recognizes outstanding service to the department of music and theatre arts. The award is named for the originator and coordinator of the annual Viennese Ball through its silver anniversary year, in honor of her service to the community. Hudachek is a music education (instrumental) major; her parents are Judi and Chris Hudachek.
Three students received W.R. Davies University Center Service Scholarships, which recognize outstanding service to the Viennese Ball.

The recipients of the Wilhelm and Ingrid Brauner Award and the AVL-List Scholarships will be announced April 15. The Viennese Ball also supports an additional 25 endowed and division scholarships each year.
