RELEASED: April 9, 2010
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team placed 16th in team sweepstakes at the American Forensic Association National Individual Events Tournament April 2-4. UW-Eau Claire hosted the tournament, which was led by the "Tournament Planning and Management" class offered through the communication and journalism department.
In all, 78 schools and 880 people attended the tournament. From the UW-Eau Claire team, 13 students qualified to compete in 47 slots. The following students made it to the quarterfinals in the tournament:
Senior Dylan Jambrek, Waukesha, for extemporaneous speaking.
Sophomore Patrick Martin, Burnsville, Minn., for extemporaneous speaking.
Seniors Nick Miller, Hales Corners, and Laura Magnusson, Apple Valley, Minn., for duo interpretation.
