April 15 open house to address parking issues during building construction

RELEASED: April 8, 2010

parking permitsEAU CLAIRE — The Parking and Transportation office at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host an open house later this month to share information about the impact that upcoming university building projects will have on parking on campus.

The open house will run from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. April 15 in the Wisconsin Room of Davies Center.

Information will be shared during the open house about the impact that the construction of several buildings will have on parking during the construction phase, as well as plans for parking during the 2010-11 academic year, said Kimberly O'Kelly, Parking and Transportation coordinator.

"In addition to increasing awareness, the open house will provide the campus community the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback, comments and suggestions," O'Kelly said.

Rick Gonzales, the campus facilities planner, also will attend the open house to answer questions relating to upcoming building projects.

In the next few years, the university plans to build a new student union, a new day care center and a new education building on lower campus. The student union will be the first project to get under way, with construction slated to begin in late fall.

For more information about the April 15 open house, contact Kimberly O'Kelly at 715-836-2726.
