See UW-Eau Claire's sustainability blog for sustainability news, updates, events and announcements from throughout the campus community.

EAU CLAIRE — Two days of celebration at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will showcase the campus commitment to sustainability.

  • A Green Careers Forum April 20 will shed light on green collar jobs. The panel discussion will run from 2-4 p.m. in Schofield Auditorium. Speakers will be Bruce Barker, president of Chippewa Valley Technical College; Rick Beckler, director of hospitality at Sacred Heart Hospital; Ned Noel, associate city planner for Eau Claire; and Tom Stolp, western region coordinator for the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters. Admission is free.
  • A Sustainability Showcase from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. April 22 on the Central Campus Mall will celebrate Earth Day with food, music and camaraderie between UW-Eau Claire and CVTC students and the Chippewa Valley community. Featuring performances by the bands Cranberry Show and an Eau Claire student jazz band, the collaboration will include the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce, Eau Claire Transit System, Just Local Foods and Blugold Dining. Admission is free.

The goals of the two-day celebration are to generate an appreciation for the resources we have; introduce local businesses to students; recognize businesses that are taking extra steps toward sustainability; and celebrate the positive changes we are making as one community. The events are sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the Student Senate.
