Students encouraged to visit planetarium for half price

RELEASED: April 6, 2010

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students are encouraged to discover the planetarium this month. A special promotion for Tuesday evenings in April offers UW-Eau Claire students admission to the 7 p.m. show for $1. The usual price is $2 per person.

The multimedia portion of this month's show is titled "More Than Meets the Eye" and examines interesting objects in the night sky. Viewers will learn where among the stars objects are located and see what they look like through binoculars, a backyard telescope and the powerful equipment of a major observatory. The show concludes with a tour of constellations and planets in the current night sky, with time for questions and answers.

The special price is only for the April 6, 13, 20 and 27 presentations — not for the Saturday morning children's shows.
