EAU CLAIRE — A Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire earned the highest award in the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency competition at Camp Atterbury March 19-21 in Edinburgh, Ind.
Cadet Isaiah Eaton, a freshman chemistry major from Hartford, received a gold badge for superior performance in first aid, pistol qualification, and 30-kilometer march, and in track and field events including 200-meter swim, 100-meter sprint, shot put, long jump, high jump and five-kilometer run.
The badge is one of a select few foreign awards and decorations authorized for wear by United States service personnel. The badge is awarded in gold, silver and bronze.
