EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's 52nd annual Career Conference will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 24 in Zorn Arena.
The Career Conference, sponsored by campus business fraternity Beta Upsilon Sigma and UW-Eau Claire Career Services, offers students and alumni the opportunity to discuss career plans, exchange resumes and make preliminary contacts with participating organizations. Employers may then follow up with more formal interviews either on or off campus.
Underclassmen can benefit from the Career Conference through conversations with representatives about what potential employers have to offer, which may help clarify students' career goals. Organizations also may offer information about internship opportunities.
More than 125 organizations, including businesses, graduate schools and state and federal agencies, attend this event each year. Participating employers also are invited to attend a preconference reception, sponsored by the Student Accounting Society, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Plaza Hotel & Suites in Eau Claire. Students and faculty can network with company representatives at the reception. Registration for the preconference is encouraged.
The Career Conference is open to all UW-Eau Claire students. No registration is required. A booklet listing employers attending the conference is available in the Schneider and Hibbard Hall lobbies.
For more information about the Career Conference, contact Debbie Peterson at 715-836-6018 or petersdk@uwec.edu.
