road construction siteEAU CLAIRE — City of Eau Claire street repairs to Roosevelt Avenue west of State Street will require University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students, faculty, staff and visitors to use an alternate entrance to campus for the first day of classes, Sept. 2.

The repairs, which began Sept. 1, will result in closure of Roosevelt Avenue through at least the morning hours of Sept. 2, said Brian Amundson, public works director for the City of Eau Claire. If pavement repairs are completed in the morning, Roosevelt Avenue may be open to traffic by afternoon, he said.

Students, faculty, staff and visitors are encouraged to use the Garfield Avenue entrance to campus until Roosevelt Avenue street repairs are completed. Students and employees will be able to access the Phillips parking lot by turning west on Roosevelt Avenue off of Park Avenue.
