Seniors to present dance capstone recital Oct. 31

RELEASED: Oct. 30, 2009

EAU CLAIRE — Two University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire seniors will present their dance capstone recital Oct. 31. Rebecca Kolb, Sun Prairie, and Theresa Lynch, Vadnais Heights, Minn., will dance at 2 p.m. in Kjer Theatre.

The performance will highlight their accomplishments in dance and choreography.

Kolb choreographed "Made to Dance," set to Jamie Scott's "Made." She described her choreography of the contemporary ballet piece as upbeat and sassy.

"With this piece I wanted to present something different that shows that ballet doesn't always have to stay within the strict boundaries in which it's usually performed," Kolb said.

Lynch choreographed "Disturbia," set to Rihanna's "Disturbia." Gymnasts Sam Howard, St. Paul, Minn., and Ashley Relopez, New Hope, Minn., will join Lynch for "Disturbia."

The performance also will include "Tap on Collision" set to Wade Robson's "I Question Mark"; "Lighting up the Night" set to "Fireflies" by Owl City; "Swim" set to the Jack's Mannequin song of the same title; "Taking a Chance" set to "Love Song" by Pink; "Dance-Tics" set to an excerpt from Beethoven's Symphony No. 5; and "Movement Modification" set to "Show Me the Money" by Petey Pablo.
