SUBJECT: UW-Eau Claire open on Columbus Day

UW-Eau Claire will be open and classes will be held on Columbus Day (Monday, Oct. 12).

While most state offices and agencies will be closed for furlough days on Monday, UW-Eau Claire will remain open.

All state workers are mandated to take 16 days off without pay before July 1, 2011, to help reduce state expenses. UW-Eau Claire has identified eight days that all employees will be on furlough. Individual employees will determine dates for their remaining furlough days.

Mandated furlough days identified at UW-Eau Claire are:

Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 (designated for entire UW System)
Monday, Dec. 28, 2009
Friday, April 2, 2010
Friday, Aug. 20, 2010
Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 (designated for entire UW System)
Monday, Dec. 27, 2010
